“Any Means Necessary” 100 Word Story

“There’s nothing wrong with torture. Those heathens torture our people when they’re prisoners. Its war, horrible things happen in war. Any means necessary for the protection of our people,” the bald man in the camo gear at the counter argued with his friend.

The ancient woman sitting beside him slowly rolled up her sleeve presenting a set of numbers tattooed on her left outer forearm and positioned her arm in front of them.

“In another place, in another time, that’s what my countrymen said to me. ‘Any means necessary for the protection of our people’,” her eyes filled with disappointment.
