“First Flight” 100 Word Story


Capt. Choudhury proclaimed their arrival at Proxima Centauri and its solitary orbiting planet.

“We made it,” Anikulapo-Kuti sighed.

The Captain smiled, “All those ancient inspirational Star Trek series finally paid off.”

Anikulapo-Kuti grinned, “You too? I thought I was the only one.”

“Greatest motivation ever,” Zheng added.

“Thank goodness the collective consciousness evolved and appreciated our differences instead of despising them,” the Captain replied.

“Too bad not all of our world came to that realization in time,” Anikulapo-Kuti said.

“Here’s to hope and strange new worlds!” they cheered.

The first successful interstellar voyage achieved.

The ship angled for a landing.
